like course conglomerates
differing greatly in origin

chewed down through St. Cloud
in outcrops just upstream
as unconformity of northern shores
with major and minor faults
interbedded with basalt

dipping toward the sill
beyond the lava
in quartzite crops
while sinking
to the bottom
still hot

overlying rhyolite
in intrusive dikes
like porcupines
of undying dolomite

much mining of iron
from Niagara to Pembine
exposed like gneiss
along highly-prized shorelines

cross bedded ripple marks
from lighter to darker
terrestrial silt
since thinned...
